It is now Summer 2020. It has been many months since Stage Entertainment has had to option of opening up our entertainment company again. Our performers are excited at the option of back to working and entertaining an audience.

This nationwide shutdown has had a devastating effect on the entertainment industry. It has caused a fair amount of businesses in the entertainment sector to close permanently or take out loans to survive.

On a personal note, I am proud as a Canadain on how we collectively handled this lockdown and how we pulled together as Canadians and helped the elderly and our neighbours during this difficult time.

We have pulled through this together and should have the majority of us working again. Most of Ontario is open & Toronto’s Stage 3 restrictions lifted within the next few days.

Stage Entertainment are proud of how we have all handled this unprecedented last few months. We all look forward to getting back to work.

Whatever precautions that need to be in place moving forward, you have our promise that our performers and entertainers have whatever protective equipment they need to perform their job safely.

As the phone starts ringing again and our performers get back to performing for your birthday party’s and other of life’s milestones, we want to thank our customers for continuing to invest in Stage Entertainment, and it’s talent roster.

Stage Entertainment has a fantastic complementary service to our Santa Claus and seasonal performers.

We recognize as working professionals, sometimes there isn’t enough hours in the day with the added planning for Christmas parties and coordinating all the little details. The hectic December schedule is why we offer this service to help out all of us for six weeks of the year.
Nobody wants to own and store all of this Christmas decor for a one day party or even a month-long display. We store it year round, and you can rent what you need when you need it.

What Is It like Hiring a Magician for Your Kid’s Birthday Party?

If you are a parent, you know that you want your child’s birthday party to be as special as it can be. One of the ways you can make it memorable for your child and their friends is by hiring a magician to grace the party. Nevertheless, you probably do not know what makes a magician great and you may end up throwing a second-rate birthday party for your child and ruin their day. Here are a few tips to help get a feel of what it should be like to hire a magician for your kid’s birthday party.

Have a reasonable budget

If you choose to throw a party without a budget, there is nothing you can do to narrow down your choices. A reasonable budget entails two parts – how much you are willing to spend and what to expect from the amount on your budget. Higher prices do not necessarily translate to higher quality and neither do lower prices translate to lower quality. However, it is good to keep in mind that most of the time, cheap is expensive. Think of asking family and friends to help you fund your kid’s birthday party so that you do not end up with a part-time amateur with limited experience. It is not just about the magic tricks they can perform, it is also the experience they have working with family groups and children.

Recommendations come in handy

Chances are that there is someone in your circle or even just someone you know that has hired a magician before for their kid’s birthday party. Feel free to ask for recommendations and you will be a step closer to finding the right magician for your party. However, keep in mind that their word can only go so far so do a little research as well. After all, you will not like every movie that someone you know recommends to you.

Follow your instinct

When looking for a magician to hire for your kid’s birthday party, it is good to have a second and third opinion. After picking a few candidates, you can narrow them down by simply following your instinct. If you feel like you are dealing with someone who does not take professionalism seriously or their website does not make them look experienced, write them off your list. A magician worth their salt knows that presentation is everything so if they fail to impress you from the start, do not risk hiring them.

Get testimonials

Reviews and testimonials should be standard on every magician’s website. Be careful and look out for fake testimonials. Real ones should include the first and last name of a person and where you can find them. Be wary of magicians that make it hard for you to find genuine testimonials because they might be hiding something. It could be that they are inexperienced or they do not have the licensing to do their work and not easily accessing testimonials reinforces that.

Video clips are a plus

A magician who is confident about themselves will go a step further and record videos so that they can provide you with samples that you can preview. You should also be able to access such videos on their website or on other platforms like YouTube. Only the most reputable and qualified performers will appear on such searches. As such, use the internet as a tool of finding the perfect magician for your kid’s birthday party.

The main key to the success of your event is the experience that your magician has. Your choice of magician will set the tone for your event and the memories you hope to make. Most performers try to break into the industry by doing children’s shows and you should not be their guinea pig. They may be cheaper, but the difference between price and value is quite big.

5 Things to Look For When Choosing Party Entertainers

When you hold a party, whether it is for your child or for any other reason, you want people to enjoy themselves. It is no wonder then that most people are choosing to hire party entertainers to liven up their events. However, choosing the right entertainer can be quite daunting especially if you are unfamiliar with the market. There are numerous options online and they promise a lot but in reality, if someone you trust did not recommend an entertainer to you or you have not seen them in action, then making that choice becomes a hassle.  Here are five things to consider when hiring an entertainer for your party.

Who are they?

Most party entertainers work for online-based larger companies. Some of those online agents are in an entirely different state or city from you. An entertainer will often receive calls from remote party agents looking for someone to take on a party in a far off location. Sure, these entertainers can do the job, but the biggest concern is that those remote agents do not really know that entertainer. When you identify a party entertainer of your choice, ensure that you will be getting them and not someone else. Ask to speak directly to the entertainer you have chosen rather than their representative.

Do they have experience?

Experienced entertainers make a whole lot of difference at your party. Find out from them how long they have been in the business and do not shy away from asking for testimonials. The last thing you want is an entertainer who is unsure of what they are doing at your party. Moreover, an experienced performer will give an age appropriate show. Some party entertainers will use the same format on all their shows. This either can be too dull for an older audience or too advanced a younger one. Ask your entertainer exactly what they are going to do at a show and what their package entails.

Are they reliable?

A dependable party entertainer should reach out to you a few days to the party and assure you that they will definitely show up. Whomever you choose to be the entertainer at your party, ensure that they have a valid blue card that allows them to work with children or an audience of a particular kind. This lets you know that they adhere to laid down regulations and that you can trust them. If your entertainer is unable to present their blue card, it is better to let them go.

Are they willing to answer questions?

Whatever question comes to mind, feel free to ask your party entertainer. They should always be available to address any concerns or answer any questions you may have before the day of the party so that you are completely confident that everything will go according to plan. Be wary of individuals that claim to be entertainers but are not able to answer simple questions or are unwilling to do so. After all, you are going to pay for their services and you want value for your money. If you get answers for the above questions, you are definitely on the right track to finding the right party entertainer.
